Dear AFS-USA Volunteers,
This year has resulted in far more calls and emails to the AFS-USA Participant Support Department than would have been received in a “normal” year. For example, there are lots of new questions and needs related to the pandemic. These and other types of messages have been overwhelming in volume and, as such, I ask for your patience when Support staff are unable to respond within the time window to which you may be accustomed.
Situations related to a participant’s health, safety, and well-being will always be prioritized over other messages regarding, for example, minor disciplinary issues, non-urgent insurance questions, non-urgent activity waivers, etc. I appreciate your patience while we work toward a return to our standard and customary response times.
