AFS-USA Featured in Parade Magazine

AFS-USA was featured prominently in a recent article for Parade magazine exploring the impact of hosting exchange students. AFS-USA Board Member, Diana Deem—who has been both a natural parent and a three-time host parent—was interviewed for the piece, as was Jerry Gulley, a four-time host parent and volunteer with the AFS Milwaukee Area Team.

Jerry’s incredible hosting story, which spans generations and continents, is profiled in depth in this feature-length article, which shines light on the positive power of exchange. We are grateful to the Gulley-Schend Family, as well as Diana Deem, for sharing how the AFS Effect has impacted their lives!
