Priority Interviews in the Interviews Widget & Global Link Checklist

Some of our first-time volunteer applicants are unable to move forward with their volunteer registration until an interview is completed- we call them “stuck”!

As a reminder, these people are “stuck” because during the registration process they answered “no” to these questions:

This means that they want to connect with someone before moving on. Because they answered “no” to both questions, the “Next Steps” part of their application will not open for them until the interview is completed. Some other important things to note:

  1. Going forward, to ensure that teams are able to constantly monitor and prioritize volunteer applicants in this situation, such interviews will be marked as “priority” in MyAFS so volunteers can tell which applicants are “stuck”

  1. We have also added a view to the volunteer checklist in Global Link to help you see who is stuck:

  1. Lastly, to ensure volunteer applicants are aware they can now finish their application (and that there is more to do!) – once the interview is completed and reviewed and the “Next Steps” section opens up – applicants will get an email alert telling them to log back into their application to complete more steps. The interviewer and anyone with the “Volunteer-OA Notifications (Email)” affiliation will be copied on that message.  We recommend that Volunteer Coordinators consider adding the affiliation for themselves to help know when the interview is accepted.

We hope that this will make the volunteer registration process easier for all!
