Many of you are probably familiar with Facebook Workplace– the online team collaboration tool created by Facebook. Our AFS partner countries around the world have been using Workplace for the past few years, and AFS-USA is no exception!
In 2018 and 2019 AFS-USA brought a number of volunteers into Workplace on a case-by-case basis, mostly those who were involved with LIFT, the Dallas Hosting Conference, the ECA Workshop, or the Minneapolis Summit. There are also groups for Volunteer Coordinators, Diversity and Inclusion Coordinators, and specific Area Teams.
Now in 2020, we are happy to announce that we have welcomed all AFS-USA volunteers into Workplace! Over the past few weeks we have built six new groups in Workplace- one for each region. You all should have received an email from a staff member from your region, followed by a Workplace invitation if you are new to Workplace.
We encourage you to use your regional groups in Workplace as a place to meet volunteers in your region, recognize successes, highlight team events, and discuss best practices. We are excited about this new community-building tool for AFS-USA volunteers, but know that you are not required to use Workplace if you do not want to.
