Call for Judges

The Scholarships Team requests your help to join Volunteers and Returnees judge scholarship applicant submissions for the NH20 cycle!

Each year, we rely on AFS Volunteers, Returnees, Donors and Staff to review AFS applicant’s scholarship essays, recommendation letters, and letters to host families. Many of the AFS applicants seek merit scholarships to support their AFS journey abroad for the semester or year program.

It’s that time of the year and we’re calling for volunteers interested in serving as a Scholarship Judge for the NH20 cycle! If you’re available and would like to serve as a Judge, please complete the registration form.

What’s involved?

Judges will be asked to review application materials for 3-6 candidates per scholarship (based on the number of scholarships you agree to judge). All you have to do is review the scholarship application materials and then submit your scores online. All judging is conducted online and typically requires only one to two hours (max) per applicant essay.

Need more information, contact the Scholarships Team at scholarships@afsusa.org or ext. 2218.
