Be on the lookout, International Education Week (IEW) is fast approaching on November 18—22! IEW is the perfect excuse to reach out to schools and key educator contacts—counselors, principals, PTA/PTO leaders, teachers, and so on—to schedule appointments, give presentations, and spread the word about AFS.
Remember, your first outreach may go unread. Don’t worry; be politely persistent! Keep your request short and simple at first—even 10 minutes of someone’s time is enough to give an overview and provide materials for them to share. Then, follow up to nurture the relationship and offer to come back to give a presentation to a larger audience or lead an application workshop for students.
