Exciting News for AFS Volunteers: New Students NH25

We’re thrilled to kick off November with an exciting update! Today, we’re releasing our first group of NH25 (2025/26 academic year) students, with more students rolling out in the coming weeks and months. For the remainder of 2024, we’ll be focusing on CORE students, while Sponsored Program Students (YES, FLEX, and CBYX) will begin to be distributed in late January/February of 2025. As we move into the new year, you can expect an increased number of students across all programs!

Now is the perfect time to start planning engaging events—like tabling, hosting activities, and other outreach initiatives—to inspire your AFS team and families in 2025. With students available for the spring semester and the 2025-26 school year, there are ample opportunities to connect new host families with AFS.

The placement deadline for Spring Semester students is December 18th, and currently, we have 10 fantastic students awaiting placements. Here’s a look at the SH25 Semester students:

Athirah from Malaysia (16, F): Social and outdoorsy, loves K-pop, fishing, tennis, and family time.

Qarissa from Malaysia (15, F): Creative and social, enjoys dancing, board games, and singing.

Achmad from Indonesia (16, M): Social and responsible, loves soccer, science, and photography.

Luke from Germany (16, M): Soccer player excited to join a baseball team; aspiring physical therapist.

Raiyan from India (17, M): Cooperative and studious, enjoys soccer, hiking, camping, and cooking.

Philip from Germany (17, M): Sports enthusiast who loves cooking and caring for his pet rabbit.

Syzarel from Malaysia (16, M): Ambitious and studious, enjoys music and video games.

Yousef from Kuwait (16, M): Outgoing and dedicated, passionate about karate, biking, camping, and arcade games.

Zakyf from Malaysia (15, M): Sporty and ambitious, enjoys running, rugby, hiking, and camping.
