To help volunteers and staff promote our programs in New Zealand, France, and Italy, the Marketing Department has created a new fact sheet (below) highlighting some fun insights, benefits, and details.
You can use the following information as a reference when talking to students about opportunities to go abroad, or as a guide for helping applicants choose the program that’s right for them.
Italy High School
Ideal for students interested in history, fine art, architecture, culinary arts, learning the Italian language, and joining in a family-oriented culture.
Fast Facts:
• Year program departs in the fall; Semester program departs in the spring
• Program fee: $14,250 – $16,300
• Applications accepted on a rolling basis
• Eligibility: current High School students and recent graduates
Scholarships Available:
• Global Leaders need-based scholarships
• Viaggio Italiano scholarship ($2,000)
• Helen Peggie Miller Scholarship ($5,000)
• Pride Scholarship (up to $4,000)
On this program, students will:
• Live with a host family and experience warm Italian hospitality
• Attend a local high school that focuses on linguistics, art, or a more traditional curriculum (like in the U.S.)
• Develop their language skills and learn the ins-and-outs of everyday Italian life
Highlights about life in Italy:
• Explore the snow-capped Alps, Roman ruins, and picturesque coastal towns
• Linger over rich, home-cooked meals and sample the world’s best gelato
France High School
Ideal for students who are passionate about the arts, fashion, architecture, history, and cultivating their French language skills.
Fast Facts:
• Year or Semester program
• Program fee: $14,000 – $16,300
• Applications accepted on a rolling basis
• Eligibility: High School students who will be 17 years and 9 months or younger upon arrival
Scholarships Available:
- Global Leaders need-based scholarships
- Helen Peggie Miller Scholarship ($5,000)
- Pride Scholarship (up to $4,000)
On this program, students will:
• Attend a local high school and experience full immersion in French culture
• Develop their French language skills through daily interactions
• Live with a host family, most likely in the scenic countryside
Highlights about life in France:
• Discover a rich culture of iconic art, influential thinkers, and ornate architecture
• Try mouth-watering crepes of every variety and some delicious frites (French fries)
New Zealand Global Choice
A great fit for students who are interested in outdoor education, environmental science, Maori culture, and the unique opportunity to choose the region in which they will live and study.
Fast Facts:
• Spring Semester 2019
• Program Fee: $15,000
• Apply by: ASAP – Apply now before spots run out!
• Eligibility: 15-19 years old upon arrival – graduates accepted
On this program, students will:
• Attend a local high school and experience full immersion in Kiwi & Maori culture
• Live with a host family in the city/town of your choice
• Participate in focused activities related to your studies
• Soak up the breathtaking landscapes from the mountains to the beach
Highlights about life in New Zealand:
• Students can choose their own school and location
• Focused Academics in Performing Arts, Design, Journalism, Media, Sports, Marine Studies, Outdoor Education (overnight camps, adventure experiences, leadership opportunities), and Information Technology
• Learn about Maori culture which is unique to New Zealand
• Kapa Haka (Performing arts)
• Noho Marae (Overnight stay in a meeting house)
• Te Reo Māori class (Māori language)
• Possibility to attend a multicultural school with other students from around the world
