Happy birthday, Bobbie Greenwood! AFS Volunteer turns 100

Happy birthday, Bobbie Greenwood! AFS Volunteer turns 100

On November 22, Silver & Gold volunteer Bobbie Greenwood celebrates her 100th year!

Bobbie has been an active AFS Volunteer in Winters, CA for over 40 years. She was the chair of the Winters Chapter for many years, and even though she does not own a computer, she remains a liaison for students hosted in the area. When she was able to drive, Bobbie drove to Sacramento Airport to pick up first arrival students and bring them to their short-term families in Winters before their Arrival Orientations. Once driving became difficult for her, she sat at the end of her drive waving the American and AFS flags to welcome students on their first day in the U.S. Bobbie has also been an active swim coach in Winters and the community pool is named for her! Bobbie is well loved by all who meet her and Silver & Gold Team is truly privileged to call her ours!

Since Bobbie does not own a computer, she is not able to receive Facebook greetings. But Silver & Gold team would love to flood her mailbox with well wishes and gratitude for her many years of service to AFS and the Winters community. If you know Bobbie, please help us celebrate her amazing life by dropping a birthday card in the mail at P.O. Box 788 Winters, CA 95694.
