The AFS-USA Hosting Advisory Group provides input and feedback to proposals and evaluates and makes recommendations for improvement regarding; Host family lead management system; Host family recruitment initiatives, strategies, and resources; Marketing initiatives and strategies related to host family recruitment; the Host family application and screening process, ensuring that AFS-USA achieves full compliance with all regulations and standards of the Council on Standards for International Educational Travel, the US Department of State, and the AFS Partner Network.
All volunteers are encouraged to apply, however, to expand the diversity of knowledge and experiences represented by the group, we are seeking at least one new member with hosting volunteer experience, from one or more of the following:
- A team from the West region
- A team from the Northeast region
- A team from the Eastern Lakes region
- A Team from the Mountains and Plains region
- A large, urban team
- A team that has strong volunteer involvement in the host family recruitment process
