Important Reminder About Overnight Orientations and Events

As Arrivals are fast approaching, we’d like to remind all volunteers that hosted students must not share a bed during any overnight AFS Orientation or Event, including Arrivals. Volunteers must arrange for a rollaway bed to be in place upon check-in for any student assigned to a room in excess of the number of standard beds in a room. In other words, if the room has two double beds, only two students may be assigned to the room, unless a rollaway bed is placed in the room for any additional student.

While some students may come from cultures in which sharing a bed with a peer or relative is common, AFS Participants must not share a bed at any AFS Orientation or Event. We thank you for your cooperation in this regard and for helping to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all of our students during their first days, and nights, in the U.S and beyond. Please direct any related questions or concerns to your TDS.
