Teacher Appreciation happens the first full week of May each year. This is a great time to say thank you to a teacher who has helped you recruit families for hosting, who has invited you to share with their class about study abroad, or who has been a great support to our hosted students. Whether you send a kind email, encourage your hosted students to do something nice for them, you take a fruit basket or cookies (with AFS swag, of course) to the school, or something much more creative, we want to hear what you’re up to and how you are letting your local teachers know what they mean to your team and to AFS!

AFS-USA has the following planned for the week:

• Monday, May 8 – Thank you message with a video sent to our full list of educators.
• Tuesday, May 9 – Social media post with our thank you video
• Thursday, May 11 – Social media post with a link to our resources and inviting educators to join our network.
• Friday, May 12 – AFS Instagram takeover by a student at Manhattan High School (Our 2023 AFS Global School of the Year).
