Dear Volunteers,
In late September, the AFS-USA School Outreach (SCOUT) Advisory Group launched two global awards that support volunteers who want to recognize and celebrate local educators and schools that are cultivating global citizens in their local communities.
The AFS-USA Global Educator Award recognizes the individual efforts of a school administrator, counselor, teacher, or instructional coach that demonstrates global and cultural competence and shares this passion and learning with their students. Do you know a teacher that deserves recognition for the global efforts that they put forth for their students?
The AFS-USA Global School Award is designed to celebrate a school that has initiatives and programming that support preparing students for a global and interconnected world. What school in your local area is committed to cultural diversity and who has global competence built into their everyday work with students? Nominate that school today!
The 2022 AFS-USA Global Educator and a representative from the 2022 AFS-USA Global School winners will receive their awards in person at the annual AFS Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) Conference in Alexandria, Virginia in March 2022. At that event, they will meet AFS-USA volunteers from around the country and learn from our international partners about various countries and cultures!
Nominations for both awards are due by December 15th. Select a school and/or educator and start the nomination process today! Learn more about both awards here. |
