Outbound Sponsored Programs (OSP) is happy to announce that we have recently created a program introduction training video! You can access the video here. The training is designed for registered volunteers and field staff and should not be shared beyond those groups.
The training provides an overview of the three outbound U.S. Department of State-sponsored scholarships implemented by AFS-USA: Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX), National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y), and Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study Abroad (YES Abroad). Additional topics include program descriptions, eligibility requirements, the involvement of AFS with the scholarship, general admissions timelines, how to access additional resources, and where to send questions.
In case you’re reading this after the program deadlines have passed, please note that the training focuses on the NH19 programs, and since program details shift from year-to-year, we’ll plan to post an updated training in the fall of 2019 regarding NH20 program details.
We hope that you’ll find the training informative and will join us in sharing these merit-based summer and year-long scholarship opportunities in your area! As of this posting, all three OSP programs are accepting NH19 applications. Please see our previous MyAFS News story for written program summaries, application details, social media channels, and contact information.
Thank you!
