For our exchange students and their host families, food has likely become a big part of connecting with one another. We’re encouraging our students to add a tasty new layer to their exchange experience by participating in the AFS International Recipe Contest! 

Encourage the hosted students in your area to make a dish from their home country with one or more American ingredients, or vice versa, and share the final product on social media by January 3, 2025, using #CookingAcrossCultures. We want to see all the fun photos and videos of the experience, from the process of preparing their recipe to sharing the final product with family and friends. Host families and volunteers can participate too! The winners will receive a surprise customized prize to remember their exchange experience. 

For those who may need some inspiration, check out our Recipes from Around the World webpage for ideas – you can even submit your own recipes for others to try.
