Dear AFS-USA Volunteers,
Along with AFS International President, Daniel Obst, I’m inviting each of you to sign the Declaration of Accra, which is the AFS Network’s pledge to help the world learn and live together.
The Declaration was introduced during the 2017 AFS World Congress in Accra, Ghana, where it was signed by over 120 AFS leaders from around the globe. Now it’s your turn!
Outlined in the Declaration are three mission-driven goals:
- Develop active global citizens
- Globalize schools and institutions
- Expand access to intercultural education.
Achieving these goals requires collaboration among AFSers all around the world. When you sign the pledge, you indicate your willingness to be part of ONE AFS, and to continue working locally in your communities to further our global impact.
Additionally, once a critical mass of AFSers has signed the Declaration of Accra, it will be released to the public as a way to encourage more people to become part of the learn-to-live together movement. You do so much to advance the AFS Mission of building a more just and peaceful world, and it is truly appreciated. Please sign now, and inspire others to follow your lead!
Sincerely,
Jorge Castro
President, AFS-USA
