On February 27, we set out with the ambitious goal of finding 10 host families each day for 10 days in a row.

Thanks to the dedication and passion of AFS Volunteers like you, we surpassed our goal! In fact, by the end of our 10 for 10 Challenge, we welcomed a total of 137 new host families into the AFS community!

Thank you for getting involved in this initiative and helping to bring meaningful, person-to-person cultural exchange into communities across the country. As you may know, AFS hosted students also participated in the 10 for 10 Challenge. They shared some amazing stories and photos on social media that showed how incredible their hosting experience has been. In the Instagram posts included below, students were asked to fill in the blank: “I wish _______ would fit in my suitcase.” We love what they came up with!

We hope you’ll celebrate the close of another successful initiative, and that you’ll take this enthusiasm with you into the upcoming “hosting season,” as we find host families for the remainder of the 2,200 international exchange students coming to the U.S. this fall.
