Beginning in early March, teams were able to begin Community Placing hosted students for their teams, so as to build a pool of students that the team can focus on placing. A change we made this year, based on volunteer and staff input, was to not allow students to be Community Placed until two weeks after their application became available. The intent of this was to give volunteers two weeks to identify a family for these students before they could be CPed. After the students are in Regionally Available for 2 weeks, there is an automated overnight process that makes these student eligible to be Community Placed.
Based on concerns that have been raised by volunteers and Team Development staff about the timing of this overnight process, we have changed the process so that students who have been in Regionally Available for two weeks will become CP eligible each day starting at 10am EDT (9am CDT, 8am MDT, 7am PDT, 6am ADT). This change will go into effect on Monday, April 8, so students who are CP eligible starting Monday will be made CP eligible at approximately 10am EDT Monday morning.
