Global Prep Students in Forest City, Iowa

AFS Exchange Student Talks About Year Abroad in the U.S.

An AFS Student from Pakistan, who is a recipient of a U.S. State Department scholarship, talks about how his study abroad experience this past year has encouraged him to change the world during a local TEDx talk. “I knew that change meant coming out of your comfort zone, and only then can you make a difference,” he said. Alliance Francaise and AFS Event in Connecticut

Last month, AFS and Alliance Francaise de Hartford invited guests to view an original Ford Model T ambulance from World War I restored by George King III, hear diary entries from ambulance drivers during the war, and learn about the restoration process of the ambulances. Southern New England Area Team Chair, Andrea Downs, talked about AFS today in the Hartford community, and several exchange students attended the event. Click here to see photos from the event.
