AFS-USA 2024-25 Certificate of Acceptance

The Council on Standards for International Educational Travel (CSIET) has issued the 2024-25 Certificate of Acceptance to AFS-USA. CSIET evaluates and certifies long-term international student exchange programs at the secondary level. CSIET accredits only those programs that demonstrate:

• Commitment to CSIET’s Standards of Excellence;
• Engagement in the development and sharing of Community Preferred Practices; and
• Advancement of the educational value of international student exchange.

Every year, CSIET publishes an Advisory List of International Educational Travel and Exchange Programs which includes those programs that have passed evaluation and meet the criteria above.

Many schools and/or districts require proof that an exchange organization is accredited by CSIET. The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) often refer to the CSIET Advisory List (website: www.CSIET.org), to determine which programs have shown compliance relative to athletic issues.
