AFS-USA Board Seeks Individuals with Strong Financial Management Experience – Apply by December 21st!

AFS-USA Board Seeks Individuals with Strong Financial Management Experience – Apply by December 21st!

The AFS-USA Board of Directors is working to identify potential new Directors for 3-year terms, starting in July 2026, who can provide strategic leadership to help the organization accomplish its priority goals.

AFS-USA Board members provide oversight, insight, and foresight with a focus on strategic issues as they relate to the business environment in which AFS-USA operates. The Board has a fiduciary responsibility to ensure the organization is running in both financial and programmatic compliance. The Board makes decisions and recommendations that are intended to preserve the fiscal stability and health of our organization, provides direction and guidance on organizational priorities, and ensures that the programs and operations of AFS-USA are guided by the AFS mission.

We’re reaching out to the AFS-USA Volunteer network because we know there are current AFS volunteers and alumni with both the desired professional experience AND the added value of holding the perspective of an AFS-USA volunteer or alum.

This year our primary focus for potential board candidates will be with a background and expertise in financial management, and ideally some experience working on a board.  While we are specifically looking for a finance background for this board cycle, we are always looking for future board members to keep in our “board pool” as the need arises.

So, if you are interested in being considered for immediate or future consideration, please submit the Board Interest Form by December 21, 2025. If you know someone with AFS experience who would be a good candidate, please share this email with them and encourage them to apply. Candidates will be contacted about next steps in mid-January.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Ann Sweet
