AFS-USA will be conducting a pilot of Foundations of Intercultural Learning and Global Competence, a new online course offered by AFS International for staff and volunteers. This course is the new introductory level of the AFS Intercultural Link Learning Program — AFS’s training and assessment program to increase our intercultural and global competence as volunteers and staff. Foundations is the new and enhanced ‘Level W.’
A small group comprised of AFS-USA Volunteers will:
- complete the course between August 3 and September 14
- provide written feedback on the course content and input on whether, and if so, how/when AFS-USA should make this available to volunteers, in the form a survey response
- participate in one of two hour-long calls, the goal of which will be to formulate recommendations on whether/how AFS-USA should integrate Foundations into our Volunteer training program.
We look forward to the pilot group’s feedback on this exciting opportunity!
