This month, you can support students and alumni as they spread intercultural understanding in your community!
From November 16-20, AFS-USA is celebrating Global Learning Week (GLW) — an initiative that empowers AFSers to start a dialogue about the power of exchange. As an AFS-USA volunteer, you can participate in GLW by supporting students as they share their culture and AFS experience with classmates, teachers, and community members.
Here are some ways to get involved:
• Encourage hosted students and recent study abroad alumni in your area to give presentations in classrooms and community spaces – details have been sent to them via email. Educators and schools can get involved, too!
• Spread the word – host an intercultural gathering, share your story on social media and tag us, or table at an event.
• Wear an AFS-USA T-shirt and post AFS-USA materials around your community.
You can find helpful information about GLW in this Help & Learning article, including promo materials, outreach resources, and presentation templates!
Hosted students will be receiving two packages in the mail, one with an AFS-USA T-shirt, and one with study abroad, hosting, and general promotional materials to pass out during their presentations.
Please reach out to us at marketing@afsusa.org with any questions. We look forward to seeing how you #PassPeaceForward this upcoming Global Learning Week!
Warm wishes,
AFS-USA
