As we look ahead to the end of 2025, AFS-USA staff and volunteers remain focused on identifying host families and schools for the remaining SH26 (January Semester) students. (Click here and select Duration: Spring Sem to view the students)  

As of today, seven SH26 students remain without a firm or pending placement for their January program – and we are asking for your support in helping spread the word to your networks to help us identify families for these deserving students in the next two weeks (before schools’ winter holidays). 

What you can do: 

We’re launching a quick and easy AFS-USA Share-A-Thon to help get these students placed. Here’s how you can help: 

1. Pick a Post: 
We’ve created ready-to-share social media graphics and caption suggestions you can use on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or Twitter. Access the Share-A-Thon folder here. 

2. Share With Your Network: 
Post at least one message on your personal social channels. Don’t forget to tag AFS-USA (@AFSUSA – Facebook, @afs_usa – Instagram) and use hashtags: #AFSUSA #AFSEffect #WhyHostingMatters 

3. Spread the Word Beyond Social Media: 
Forward the Share-A-Thon materials, mention them in community groups, or share them in your local school or church newsletter. Every share helps! 

4. Optional Fun: 
Track your shares and encourage colleagues or friends to join—let’s see how far we can reach! Send a screenshot of your posts to marketing@afsusa.org for a chance to win AFS-USA merchandise!
