International Education Week (IEW) has officially arrived! We hope you’re just as excited as we are, because there is no better time to share your experience with AFS and educate those around you about the importance of global education. Our 75th anniversary provides an even more important platform to participate in IEW, as we are celebrating 75 years of promoting peace and creating global citizens through the AFS mission.
IEW is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of State that celebrates the benefits of global learning and international exchange. From today, Nov. 14, until Friday Nov. 18, schools, universities, businesses, and other intercultural organizations are encouraged to participate in many ways.
Our best ambassadors are AFS hosted students, volunteers, returnees, and host families, and we hope you will embody the true spirit of intercultural connection throughout the week by sharing your own experience, tagging us on social media (@afs_usa or @AFSUSA), and spreading the word about AFS.
How you can get involved:
IEW is a great opportunity to make connections, learn something new, and share your culture and identities with others. We encourage everyone to participate in this exciting week of intercultural learning! IEW 2022 outreach and presentation resources are now available on MyAFS Help & Learning.
If you haven’t yet, submit a press release to your local newspaper to let them know you’re celebrating IEW. Make sure to properly document and submit your IEW presentation using our Help & Learning resources for a chance to win a prize, and tag us in your IEW activities on social media using the hashtags #PassPeaceForward and #IEW2022 so we can reshare!
Thank you for all that you do to make a global impact in your community. If you have any questions, please contact marketing@afsusa.org.
