Launch of AFS-USA’s Media Literacy Campaign

We’re excited to announce the launch of the AFS-USA’s Media Literacy Campaign!

The campaign seeks to educate hosted AFSers and American high school students on the importance of media literacy. Hosted AFS students who are interested in participating will provide classroom presentations and tabling events at their high schools, along with posting about the importance of media literacy on social media. The campaign will run from April 19th to 24th during the week of Global Youth Service Day. Participating students will have the chance to win a Fujifilm camera with accessories! All interested hosted AFS students should apply by emailing medialiteracy@afsusa.org and we will share next steps including an educational webinar on media literacy. Please encourage any hosted student you know to apply and to follow the campaign on Facebook and Instagram.

This campaign was made possible by the generous funding from Partners of the Americas through their Citizen Diplomacy Action fund which provides grants for alumni of Department of State sponsored programs.

If you have any questions or ideas, feel free to email us at medialiteracy@afsusa.org.

Best,

The Media Literacy Team at AFS-USA
