When host families are approved and sent their initial welcome details, they will now be directed to a new and improved Online Host Family Orientation (HFO). In a series of self-directed online modules, that cover many of the same topics as before: AFS History, Educational Objectives, Support, Cultural Adjustment etc. AFS host families will now complete the required online orientation in a user-friendly, interactive set of learning modules. The online HFO course will be required for all new families and a refresher available for repeat host families. These modules complement the HFOs offered by local teams.
We are encouraging all volunteers to view the 30–40-minute courses so they are aware of the information host families are receiving.
