We are excited to announce the AFS-USA School Relations Department has formed a new advisory group to strengthen the communications between our staff and volunteers all working toward the growth and development of long-lasting relationships between schools and AFS-USA. Members of this group will be deemed “SCOUTs” as they engage nationally on matters of SChool OUTreach!
We are looking for a diverse group of volunteers from across the country who are interested in AFS-USA’s school outreach initiatives and resources and are willing to contribute to making sure that what is being share with schools is relevant, accessible, and purposeful in building and deepening school relationships. This is an opportunity to contribute to AFS-USA’s Strategic Priority related to school relations. We hope you’ll consider joining to help develop new ways for volunteers to interact with their local schools.
Here are some of our expectations for participation:
- Passion for building school relationships
- Interest in recognizing the outstanding achievements of educators and schools
- Excited about the potential for new resources to be shared with schools
- Participate in our monthly virtual meeting (usually in the evening)
- Regular correspondence by phone and email
- Commitment to moving projects forward and being action-oriented
- Be willing to think outside of the box and bring positivity and creativity to the group!
