Passing of Jennie Miller, Co-Chair of the Lake Oswego Chapter

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jennie Miller from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Jennie was an active and dedicated AFS-USA Co-Chair of the Lake Oswego Chapter, Returnee, Liaison, and four-time Host Parent.

She is survived by her husband and two daughters. She loved hiking, skiing, and attending plays. Most of all, she loved being a mom. As Jennie’s husband noted in her obituary, “She radiated strength and grace, fought bravely to the end and never gave up.”

We’d like to honor Jennie’s lifelong passion for travel, intercultural education, and spreading peace and understanding in her community with AFS-USA all these years. She will be dearly missed.

Jennie’s family has asked that donations be made to the ALS Association of Oregon and S.W. Washington, and to AFS-USA, because it was such a big part of her life.
