We are excited to announce that registration is now open for this year’s Virtual AFS Summit, which will be held November 12-15, 2020. Because it is being held virtually, any AFS volunteer who would like to participate may do so! All of the information you need to register for the Summit is included in this message.
AFS Staff and Volunteers who serve on the National Council are planning sessions throughout the weekend that will focus on several learning outcomes:
- Inform volunteers as to the current state of the organization and actions that have been needed to meet the challenges this year from the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring that all participants leave the Summit with a strong sense and understanding of where we are now and the organization’s vision moving forward.
- Together, seek to RISE above the challenges of 2020 and endeavor to build back stronger by focusing on local communities and developing team initiatives — to recruit, integrate, sustain, and evaluate – building a stronger volunteer base and more empowered volunteer teams.
- Leave the Summit recharged and fortified – with best practices, new resources, and a plan to move forward – and emerge from 2020 stronger and better equipped to deliver meaningful intercultural experiences that provide the knowledge and skills needed to help create a more just and peaceful world.
To register for this year’s Virtual AFS Summit, please complete the Summit registration form by Friday, October 30, 2020.
The agenda and links to all the Summit’s Zoom webinars will be uploaded and available in the Sched app. All registered participants will receive a link to access the information in Sched following the Summit registration deadline.
More information about the agenda and specific session content will be shared on MyAFS News in the coming weeks. We will send you the agenda and other additional details about the 2020 Virtual AFS Summit the week before the event, so you have all the information you need!
All sessions will be recorded and made accessible to volunteers who register for the Summit.
