Resources & Materials for International Education Week (IEW)!

International Education Week (IEW) is coming up in just a few weeks! IEW is an important time for the AFS community. We utilize this event to promote intercultural education and build understanding across the globe. IEW is a great time to celebrate over 75 years of promoting peace through AFS, because it embodies our mission to create global citizens through education and exchange.

IEW is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of State that celebrates the benefits of global learning and international exchange. From Nov. 13 – 17, schools, universities, businesses, and other intercultural organizations are encouraged to participate.

Our best ambassadors are AFS hosted students, volunteers, returnees, and host families, who we are asking to give school and community presentations throughout International Education Week.

How you can get involved:

IEW is a great opportunity to make connections, learn something new, and share your culture and identities with others. We encourage everyone to participate in this exciting week of intercultural learning! IEW 2023 outreach and presentation resources are now available on MyAFS Help & Learning.*

We encourage you to order giveaways and materials for hosted students and volunteers in your teams to hand out during IEW presentations and events. You can place orders online on our marketing materials site (password: afsvolunteer) – shipping takes about 3-5 business days.

Submit a press release to your local newspaper, reach out to educators in your community, and encourage returnees and students to present in their classrooms either in person or virtually!

Join the AFS-USA Marketing Team on October 25th at 7 pm EST to review the resources available for IEW and discuss ways to promote AFS in your community this IEW and beyond! Register here.

Thank you for all that you do to make a global impact in your community. If you have any questions, please contact marketing@afsusa.org
