Retirement of Robin Weber

Retirement of Robin Weber

After 30 years of extraordinary service to AFS-USA, Robin Weber is retiring from AFS-USA effective Nov 1, 2025. Robin began her career with AFS-USA in the office then located in Portland, OR.  She soon joined the  International Coordination team in New York and over time has contributed in a variety of critical areas – from the development and implementation of customer service evaluations and numerous contributions to intercultural learning tools to improving risk management and participant safety standards, leadership in establishing compliance standards , policies and procedures and many examples of successful staff-volunteer partnerships in a variety of projects and settings, not least of which has been her role on the National Council and the founding of the Compliance and Orientation Advisory Groups.

Robin’s organizational skills, work ethic and attention to detail have improved the functioning of workgroups, projects and advisory groups she’s been part of over the years and set a high standard for collaboration.  Throughout her career – participant safety and the AFS mission to create opportunities for people to gain the skills and knowledge to contribute to a more just and peaceful world lie at the heart of Robin’s work.   I have personally learned a great deal from Robin and benefited from her friendship and collegiality over these past three decades and hope you will join me in congratulating her on a long and successful career and wishing her many happy adventures ahead
