The arrival of this year’s AFS Exchange Students is just around the corner. That means we have a great opportunity this summer to encourage new families to join our global community!

To help kick this year’s “hosting season” into high gear, we’re bringing back our popular campaign, the 10 for 10 Challenge. Starting Tuesday, June 6, our goal is to find host families for 10 international students per day for 10 days straight. (That’s 100 life-changing experiences!)

We know the dedicated AFS Family can do that and more. In fact, we blew last year’s goal out of the water by placing 192 students in just 10 days!

For each day of the 10 for 10 challenge, we’ll be sending emails to both volunteers and currently hosted students with fun and easy ways to reach out to potential host families. We’ll provide new tools and resources to help you complete the daily challenge, which should take anywhere from five to 15 minutes.

We’ll also be posting each day’s activity in the AFS-USA Hosting Volunteers Facebook group, where you can share your ideas, celebrate your successes, and ask questions as the contest unfolds.

During this initiative, we’ll be acknowledging the new families who have signed up to host for the 2017-2018 school year, as well as the volunteers and/or hosted students who made the placements possible. Make sure to check the field hub regularly to see who made a difference in your area!
