The AFS National Council (NC) is made up of Committees and Advisory Groups (AGs) who take on questions regarding how AFS-USA can operate more efficiently and effectively for participants, host families and volunteers.

The NC’s Communications Committee is responsible for sharing with this AFS audience what’s being discussed and implemented by these committees and AGs. We plan to have at least one article in each issue of My AFS News that shines a light on these activities. This month, we tackled a simple message: the Communications Committee is on the job and ready to get the word out about NC goings-on.

The Communications Committee is small, but mighty. Co-Chaired by Melvin Harmon, AFS-USA VP Marketing, Study Abroad, Participant Support & Learning and AFS volunteer Aileen Smith, the committee also includes Debra Bryda, Laura Raymond, and Joanne Yokoyama-Martin.
