AFS Project: Change is a scholarship competition that invites 8th – 12th grade U.S. students to create a project proposal that works toward at least one of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals in Argentina, Brazil, China, Colombia, Egypt, Ghana, Hungary, or Kenya. Five entrants will receive full scholarships for a 1 to 3-week service-learning trip!
Students can enter anytime from October 2nd to November 25th (at 11:59 PM EST) by submitting a short project proposal essay connecting their chosen UN Sustainable Development Goal(s) with one of the AFS: Project Change countries.

- Voting Period Closes: December 30th at 11:59 PM EST
Important Contest Details:
- All U.S. 8th to 12th-grade students are eligible to enter.
- There will be one grand prize winner, and 4 additional students will receive full scholarships to participate in the grand prize-winning program.
- Project: Change countries: Argentina, Brazil, China, Colombia, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, and Hungary.
- While the proposed project will not be implemented, it will be shared and assessed with community partners in country on the trip. Trip participants will learn principles and practices of international development and changemaking.
