Dear AFS-USA Volunteers,
The scholarship team would like to share the very exciting news that we have successfully awarded just over $1M in scholarships for the vast majority of applicants who qualified for the 2025 academic year, semester, and summer programs.
After offering two different scholarship deadlines in November and January, our 2025 scholarship award cycle has officially come to a close and we will not be accepting any additional scholarship applications.
Awards have been communicated to those who met the November deadline, and we are working on determining and communicating the awards to those who met the January deadline.
Many of our year, semester, and summer 2025 programs still have available spots and we’re encouraging all current applicants to proceed with their study abroad application, despite whether or not they’ve received financial assistance.
We are providing the applicants with the following resources on how to raise funds to support their participation in the AFS program:
- Resources to help guide them in their fundraising efforts.
- Once accepted, the students receive access to our Sponsor an AFSer Fundraising Tool to help encourage and process donations from their family members, friends, and community members.
If your team has any local scholarship funding, and may be interested in supporting the applicants from your team still in need of financial assistance, please reach out to our Study Abroad scholarship staff Adriana Miladinovic at amiladinovic@afsusa.org.
We are proud that we were able to meet our commitment to award $1M in scholarships and we are excited to work with this new 2025 cohort of future AFSers.
