Congratulations to Mr. Josh Amstutz of the Academy of Global Studies at Winton Woods High School in Cincinnati, Ohio for being named the 2022 AFS-USA Global Educator of the year.
Mr. Amstutz exemplifies the qualities of an AFS-USA Global Educator Recipient for his commitment and dedication to infusing global concepts and issues into his work as an educator both inside and outside of the classroom. He is intentional to weave these concepts into his math curriculum through globally-themed, project-based learning and also provide training and professional development opportunities for his colleagues. Mr. Amstutz is also a participant in the Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms initiative sponsored by the Department of State. He looks forward to rebuilding the hosting program at his school and leveraging this award and partnership with AFS to bring more opportunities to his students and colleagues.
Mr. Amstutz will be joining AFS-USA volunteers and staff at the annual ECA Program Workshop in Alexandria, Virginia in March 2022 to participate and receive the award in person.
Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped educators pull together the materials for these nominations. The quality of submissions this year was quite high and very representative of individuals aligned with the AFS-USA School Mission: Any student or educator can become a global citizen when schools partner with AFS-USA.
