FLEX Global Abroad Application for 2027-28 is Open!

The Sponsored Programs team is happy to announce the launch of the FLEX Global Abroad Program for the 2027-28 academic year (NH27)!

Please join us in spreading the news about this program of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. As this is a new program, we are especially appreciative of any efforts you can make to share this opportunity in your communities and networks!

The FLEX Global Abroad program is a merit-based program for eligible American high school students and recent graduates to live with a host family and attend a local high school for an academic year in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Morocco, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, or Thailand. FLEX Global is the successor to the FLEX and YES programs, and participants are scheduled to travel to their host countries in summer 2027, returning to the U.S. in May or June 2028.

Through the FLEX Global Abroad program, students develop leadership, language, and professional skills while expanding their worldview and gaining a new, lifelong network of friends and family overseas. Students also share about the U.S. with their hosts and local communities, while building lasting relationships and strengthening ties between the U.S. and their host countries.

  • The FLEX Global Abroad application for the 2027-28 academic year is now open!
