Thanks to feedback from volunteers and staff, AFS-USA has been able to launch COVID-19 FAQ’s on the website which are available to the public.
Author: AFS-USA
This message was sent to all students from Italy and Spain (and their host families) who will be returning home on the March 27 charter flight from Chicago.
While AFS staff remain focused on helping all students get home, we know that many volunteers are ready to start planning ahead.
Regarding the return of the students to Italy, it is important to note that AFS Italy (Intercultura) has been working closely with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the network of the Italian Embassies and Consulates abroad. AFS-USA has been advised by AFS Italy (Intercultura) that these institutions support the return of the students to their home countries, due to the fact that no one can predict how the situation will evolve in the local community where the students are currently hosted.
Beginning Tuesday March 31st, National Pre-Return Orientation Webinars will be offered every Tuesday from 2-4pm EST. Read on for information on how to register your students.
Please help us in talking about COVID-19 and AFS using the same language.
We are extending the Visual Storyteller Scholarship deadline to Monday, March 30th 2020.
From the AFS-USA Board Chair, Building on the Legacy of the AFS Drivers – THANK YOU
Announcing a new Covid-19: Online Orientation and Support Resources section on My AFS Help and Learning. Read on for more information on these resources and an important note.
Monday night, Tara Hofmann informed all of you about the decision to shorten the programs of currently hosted students in the US, aside from FLEX and YES Sponsored Programs students. This message is an update on our planned next steps.
