International Education Week (IEW) is almost here! As you may know, this is an incredibly important time for the AFS community. AFS-USA is using the opportunity of IEW to share our mission with new audiences and drive home the importance of international education.
IEW is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of State that celebrates the benefits of global learning and international exchange. From Nov. 18 – 22, schools, universities, businesses, and other intercultural organizations are encouraged to participate.
AFS hosted students, volunteers, returnees, and host families, our best ambassadors, will be asked to give school and community presentations throughout the week. Further information will be shared in the next couple of weeks.
How you can get involved
This is a great opportunity to connect with schools and other organizations on a shared mission. During IEW, schools around the country are opening their doors to provide intercultural learning opportunities for students. Volunteers are encouraged to request an in-person school visit or give a presentation on AFS-USA’s mission and/or programs.
All IEW materials and resources will be made available on MyAFS Help & Learning.
If you already have your IEW activities planned, use this press release to showcase them in your community!
Thank you for all that you do to make a global impact in your community. If you have any questions, please contact marketing@afsusa.org.
