International Education Week (IEW) is almost here! As you may know, this is an incredibly important time for the AFS community. AFS-USA uses the week of IEW to share our mission with new audiences and drive home the importance of international education.
IEW is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of State that celebrates the benefits of global learning and international exchange. From Nov. 16 – 20, schools, universities, businesses, and other intercultural organizations are encouraged to participate.
AFS hosted students, volunteers, returnees, and host families, our best ambassadors, will be asked to give school and community presentations throughout the week (either in-person or virtually). They are receiving emails today, 10/26, with information and resources.
How you can get involved:
This is a great opportunity to connect with schools and other organizations on a shared mission. IEW outreach and presentation resources are now available on MyAFS Help & Learning. Submit a press release to your local newspaper, reach out to educators in your community, and encourage returnees and students to present in their classrooms either in-person or virtually!
Thank you for all that you do to make a global impact in your community. If you have any questions, please contact marketing@afsusa.org.
