International Education Week (IEW) is coming up in November, and we want to make sure that AFS-USA Volunteers are prepared to make the most of this exciting week-long event! 

IEW is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of State that highlights the many benefits of intercultural student exchange. During the week of November 18 – 22, schools, universities, businesses, and other intercultural organizations are encouraged to participate and spread the word! 

As part of this celebration, we encourage hosted students, volunteers, returnees, host families, and alumni to give cultural presentations in their community to promote the AFS mission and the power of exchange. We’ll be updating our IEW 2024 digital resources on Help & Learning  by mid-October. In the meantime, you can order new giveaways and print materials to hand out during IEW at events and presentations (password: afsvolunteer) – shipping takes about 3-5 business days.
