Introducing the New Volunteer Onboarding Unit

We are excited to announce the new Volunteer Onboarding Unit; Michelle Bird and Audrey Pinchock are back! They have assumed the roles of Volunteer Onboarding Managers and have been tasked with recruiting and registering new volunteers as well as helping you reconnect with seasoned volunteers who have stepped back during COVID-19. Michelle and Audrey were thrilled to hear that AFS is moving forward with the 2021 hosting season, and they’re happy to be a part of the process.

Whether your team is currently hosting only a few students or doesn’t have any current placements, it’s time to shake off the dust and begin planning for the new students arriving in the fall. Get started by looking at your team’s volunteer ranks to be sure that you have enough help with hosting recruitment, school outreach, and liaison support.

Michelle and Audrey hope to be in partnership with all of your teams, so watch for movement in volunteer registration, and join them in welcoming our fellow volunteers back into the fold.

As our favorite African proverb says, if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. Feel free to reach out to Michelle and Audrey with ideas, suggestions, or just to say hello at MBird@afsusa.org and APinchock@afsusa.org
