Join the National Council’s Communications Committee

The National Council’s Communications Committee is seeking volunteers with a knack for the art of communications to join our team!

The National Council Communications Committee supports communications between the National Council and AFS-USA volunteers, sharing National Council news and initiatives, such as the annual AFS Summit. We promote and encourage the ongoing dialogue between volunteers and the National Council to ensure that the volunteer voice is heard on important issues.

If you have the skills and interest in joining this Committee and working with the National Council, we encourage you to complete our interest form. The process is designed to match volunteer skills and abilities with those needed in a particular role. We also try to make sure groups represent the different AFS-USA regions, types of area teams, and perspectives.  The Communications Committee meets monthly, on the Thursday following the 4th Monday of the month (as to follow the National Council Steering Committee meeting).

So, if communication skills are a strength and interest, please consider sharing your talents with the National Council Communications team. For more information or if you have any questions, contact Rebecca Cartier, Communications Committee Co-Chair, jdcrld@sbcglobal.net and complete the interest form.

Volunteers can learn more about all national volunteer opportunities on MyAFS Help and Learning (just search ‘National Council’, ‘Advisory Groups’, and/or ‘National Volunteer Opportunities’) and submit an interest form to be considered.
