Leading Together – Please join us for the “hybrid” 2021 AFS Volunteer Summit

In August, we informed you of our plans to have a “hybrid” AFS Summit this November, with online content offered to all volunteers while volunteer and staff members of the National Council, National Council Advisory Groups, and National Council Committees are attending our in-person Summit in the Washington, DC area. The virtual content of the Summit is planned from November 4-8, 2021.

For the virtual sessions, each National Council Advisory Group is planning a 75 minute session that will include a mix of live and pre-recorded content related to the work of these advisory groups and how their work supports each of you in the work you do to deliver our program to our students, families, and schools. Advisory Groups planning sessions include:

  • Compliance Advisory Group
  • Hosting Advisory Group
  • Orientations Advisory Group
  • School Outreach Advisory Group
  • Sponsored Programs Advisory Group
  • Study Abroad Advisory Group
  • Support Advisory Group
  • Travel Advisory Group
  • Volunteer Engagement Advisory Group

In addition, the National Council Committees (Communications, Nominations & Selection, and Volunteer Recognition) will be presenting about the work of the National Council and national volunteer opportunities that are available for AFS volunteers.

Virtually or in-person, this will be an engaging weekend that will include opportunities for all to learn, collaborate, share, and celebrate.

Registration and other details will be sent out during the week of October 18. If you have any questions, contact us at afssummit@afsusa.org.
