Join Us at the 2021 AFS-USA Volunteer Summit “Leading Together”

The AFS-USA National Council welcomes you to the 2021 Volunteer Summit. Our theme this year is “Leading Together”!

This year’s Summit is special in that it will be in-person and virtual from November 6-8, 2021. In this way we have the opportunity to engage all volunteers.

In-person participants, attending the Summit in Alexandria, VA, will include members of the National Council Advisory Groups and National Council Committees. And we are recruiting NEW members! As a new member, you will have the opportunity to attend the Summit in person!

We encourage you to learn more and apply. Advisory Groups and Committees are opportunities for you to collaborate and work with AFS-USA staff and volunteers across the U.S. in addressing organizational needs and challenges from a national perspective. If you’d like to learn more about the available National Volunteer Leadership opportunities, check out this link on MyAFS Help & Learning and feel free to submit the interest form for the Advisory Group or Committee you may be interested in joining!

In-person or virtually, this will be an engaging weekend that will include opportunities for all to learn, collaborate, share, and celebrate.

The six imperatives for this Summit include:

Manage Financial Challenges
Advance the AFS-USA School Strategy
Become More Diverse and Inclusive
Digitally Transform Programs and Operations
Engage Volunteers
Heighten Visibility

We look forward to seeing you all in November! If you have any questions, contact us at

Keep on the lookout for more information and details!

Thank you for all that you do to support AFS-USA,
