March 26 Message Sent to DEN, GER, NED, NOR, SWE, and SUI Host Families and Students Concerning Return Travel

Important Note/Clarification: Friday’s charter flight out of O’Hare for our students from Spain and Italy is still moving forward as planned.

*This has been sent to students (and their host families) from Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland.*

Dear AFS-USA Host Families and Hosted Students and Volunteers,

We previously informed you of our plan to arrange return flights via charter for this Friday, March 27. We have been informed that the flight departure for your student has been changed to Monday, March 30.

Rest assured, it is common to have charter aircraft change schedules, even in the best of times.

Students returning to Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland will now be travelling home on Monday, March 30.

We will adjust the domestic travel to Chicago to allow for students to depart O’Hare on Monday. We will send you confirmation, as well as some additional details about the return flight soon.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, and please continue to support one another through these challenging times.

If you have specific questions about your student’s return travel, please contact covid19@afsusa.org.

Thank you,

Tara M. Hofmann
