Student ID Card Changes

Student ID Card Changes

There have been a few recent adjustments to the Hosted Student ID Card and distribution process for the coming cycle.

Moving forward, the Student ID will automatically be included in the Welcome Email which is sent to the Host Family and Liaison at the point when both the Host Family is fully screened and the Liaison is fully registered, trained, and linked to the Student and Host Family.

This will ensure that an up-to-date Student ID is made immediately available at the time of the placement or after a change to the Student’s placement or local support is made.

As a result, the AFS office will no longer send physical copies of Student ID cards to Area Teams after Student . Instead, Area Teams are asked to print a physical ID card to provide directly to students upon their arrival to account for varying arrival dates and early placement adjustments.

As a reminder, the Student ID card can be accessed at any time by opening the Team Widget on MyAFS then clicking on the specific student.

Additionally, we have adjusted the title of “Local Coordinator” on the Student ID to now reflect AFS’s “Liaison”.
