If you have been debating whether or not to participate in this weekend’s Virtual AFS Summit, there is still time for you to register to join us!

To kick off the 2021 AFS Summit weekend, AFS-USA President, Tara Hofmann, invites all volunteers to join her for her virtual welcome address, starting at 8pm EDT on Thursday, November 4. During this address, Tara will provide an update on the state of the organization and identify priorities for the future.

If you haven’t already registered for the Virtual Summit, which will be on Saturday and Sunday, November 6-7, please do so today. Each online session will be 75 minutes long and will be led by volunteers and staff who serve together as members of an Advisory Group. Session titles and times for the weekend include:

• Diversifying Outreach: Promoting International Education Week Beyond Local Communities (Saturday at Noon EDT)
• Representing the Volunteer voice at the National Level (Saturday at 5pm EDT)
• Support Microlearnings: Review and Application(Saturday at 5pm EDT)
• Volunteer Engagement: Find Your Sparkle (Sunday at 1pm EST)
• The ETA for the Travel Evolution is Now! How Through Ticketing has Forever Changed the AFS World of Travel and Logistics  (Sunday at 1pm EST)
• Introduction to School Outreach (Sunday at 2:30pm EST)
• Studying Abroad with AFS: What You Need to Know! (Sunday at 2:30pm EST)
• Making One Hosting Arrival Deadline A Reality for 2022 (Sunday at 4pm EST)
• Orientations are Not Just to Prevent Problems (Sunday at 4pm EST)

At 5:30pm EST on Sunday, there will be a livestreamed Question & Answer session with Tara Hofmann, as a follow-up to Thursday’s address. Please join us – and bring your questions!

The final virtual event for this year’s AFS Summit will be a livestream of the AFS Volunteer Recognition Awards starting at 8:30pm EST on Sunday, November 7.
