We’ve created a tool that will send volunteers one text four days before their volunteer registration will expire if they haven’t yet taken care of the annual process. The text message encourages a volunteer to head to their MyAFS Volunteer Portal to complete the re-registration items, which should take about 15 minutes to complete. Once submitted, background checks can take anywhere from one day to one month to return to us, but on average, they typically take 2-4 days. These texts could help volunteers remember that time is running out, and will hopefully help everyone.
